HELLENIC AMERICAN BANKERS ASSOCIATION, INC.

PRESS RELEASE

Mrs. Dora Bakoyannis, Mayor of the City of Athens

June 4, 2004 at The Sky Club

The Hellenic American Bankers Association will honor Mrs. Dora Bakoyannis, Mayor of the City of Athens, on Friday, June 4, 2004 at the Sky Club in New York City. Mr. John Metaxas of CNBC will be the Master of Ceremonies.

Mrs. Bakoyannis is a member of one of Greece’s most prestigious political families. She is the first woman mayor of Athens, winning her office by a 61% majority. And as the Mayor of Athens, she is now busily promoting the 2004 Summer Olympics, which will be held in Athens. Mrs. Bakoyannis is also the first woman mayor of an Olympic city. Prior to her election as Mayor, she served as a member of the Greek Parliament. During her terms in the Parliament, she served as an Undersecretary of State and later as Minister of Culture. Through the years she has been an outspoken proponent on equal rights, women’s issues and education. Her positions have placed her in the international political spotlight. She continues to be an example of positive political power, a knowing and caring individual who is determined to make a difference, for the better, in this world.

The Hellenic American Bankers Association is a not-for-profit organization established in 1982 to promote the professional and educational interests of Greek-Americans in the banking and finance industries. The organization sponsors lectures, seminars, and cocktail receptions with guest speakers. Each year the Hellenic American Bankers Association also honors one outstanding individual who has made a difference either in business or on the world scene. For further information on our event honoring Mrs. Dora Bakoyannis, please call Popi Zavakopoulou at (212) 421-1057 or visit our website at www.HABA.org.
